"Daddy, what does 'that word' mean?"
"Susie, don't bother daddy while he's watching O'Reilly."
www.SafeTvAds.com wants to get creepy, offensive "men's pills" commercials off TV. Aren't you sick and tired of you and your kids being bullied, embarassed, harassed and stalked by Pfizer (Viagra), Eli Lilly (Cialis), and now Shionogi (Osphena--another embarassing "feminine" product)? Tired of scurrying to find the remote when these ads come on? Will you help www.SafeTvAds.com do something about it?
Protect the Mind -- Civilized societies have traditionally delayed children's education of sexual matters in order to promote the development of the child's aptitudes and talents. These ads are robbing our children of their childhood!
Fox News (looking out for the folks, of course) even showed Viagra commercials during their coverage of the Newtown School shooting last year-- after all, it's all about the advertising revenue.
The US and New Zealand are the only two countries that allow ED commercials on TV. What for? For money!
Our kids aren't safe anywhere, and especially not in front of their living room television set.
These embarassing commercials are shown all day long on televisions throughout the US. Children are watching and are being exposed to inappropriate content.
This is wrong! As school teachers, healhcare professionals, church leaders (our sleeping 'shepherds'), journalists and media continue to turn a blind eye to television content that is not only grossly inappropriate for children but embarassing for any reasonable adult!
This has gone on for too long and it's only getting worse! This unhealthy collaboration between advertisers, television networks, the professional sports industry, and cable and satellite TV companies must be stopped. Cable and satellite TV is not cheap (and weren't they supposed to be commercial-free anyway?) --why must we pay to be stalked and harassed inour own homes?
Let's join our voices together... AND BE HEARD AS ONE!
SafeTVAds will show advertisers and the media that we mean business. We want to rid television of inappropriate content. AND WE WILL VOTE WITH OUR MONEY!
Join our boycott of companies guilty of unethical advertising practices. Starting with Pfizer--the maker of that obnoxious "men's pill" (Viagra) with the creepy ads! Let Pfizer waste their billion-dollar advertising fund on bonuses for their marketing geniuses!
Obviously, Pfizer, Eli Lilly and others have failed to comply with basic decency standards. Child abuse and child neglect laws around the world clearly identify the requirement to protect children from developmentally inappropriate information and language. These child abuse and child neglect laws also identify all those aware of the abuse and neglect as mandated reporters --parents, guardians, other members of the child's family or household, custodians, sitters, teachers, health-care facilities, coaches, daycare providers, clergy --- the list includes all of us!
Pfizer (Viagra) and Eli Lilly (Cialis) and Shionogi (Osphena) are not the only advertisers with offensive TV ads but www.SafeTvAds.com is starting with them. We will broaden our scope as our support increases.
